![]() HAZCO designs and constructs Bentonite slurry walls to control or direct the migration of contaminants. Our projects have included installation of subsurface containment walls to prevent such migration. These subsurface barriers walls consist of a vertically excavated trench that is filled with a slurry. The slurry hydraulically shores the trench to prevent collapse and forms a filter cake that directs the flow of ground water. Slurry walls often are used where the waste mass is too large for treatment and where soluble and mobile constituents pose an imminent threat to a source of drinking water or river system. These walls may also be installed to control migration of contaminants offsite.
Groundwater recovery wells can be installed as part of the design to extract and treat contaminated water and control groundwater levels. HAZCO can design and build water treatment systems to process such recovered water. |
