Common waste streams accepted include:

• Drilling waste (cuttings)
• Waste generated from: flare pits, ecology pits, evaporation ponds, inlet separators, run-off ponds, and others
• Tank and treater bottoms
• Hydrocarbon, salt, or other contaminated soils from site remediation projects and spill response activities
• Sulphur waste, fly ash
• Catalyst, desiccant beads
• Asbestos

 

All disposal projects are subject to a waste approval procedure involving an evaluation of the physical and chemical characteristics of the waste. Generators will be required to provide representative third-party analysis for each new waste stream and for each new location.

Design information
The industrial and oilfield waste cell is designed with:

 

• A leachate collection and removal system consisting of perforated pipe and shredded tire filter media.
• Minimum of one (1) meter clay liner laid down in lifts of 8 inches and compacted to 100% Standard Proctor.
• The clay liner is an order of magnitude more stringent that required by Alberta Environment or the EUB.
